Stronger Together: Communication as We Close the School Year

Hello Panther Family,
As we head into the final stretch of the school year, the days move faster, the events and celebrations fill each day and the last weeks of school can seem overwhelming. Between final assessments, athletic competitions, fine arts performances, and end-of-year celebrations, we know the calendar fills quickly, pressure to make everything happen on a busy schedule can mount, and we want to support you.

To ensure our communication partnership allows you to feel confident about scheduled activities and support our students to finish the year strong and successful, it is more important than ever that we keep our lines of communication open, clear, and direct.

Dr. Epley frequently shares this reminder with our staff, “Unknown needs cannot be met.” and it holds true for our students and families as well. We want to support your student and your family. If you have questions or concerns, or need information or support, please know we welcome you reaching out to make us aware of the situation. To ensure your voice is heard and your needs are addressed quickly, we encourage you to use our official communication channels rather than social media.

While social media is a wonderful tool for staying connected through sharing activities and opportunities, celebrations, and school spirit, it is not an effective platform for reporting concerns. Please be aware that non district sponsored platforms are not monitored 24/7 for support requests. We take every report seriously and launch thorough investigations when concerns are raised. However, social media posts often contain incomplete or inaccurate information, which can hinder our ability to expedite investigations and resolve issues effectively.

Direct communication ensures that we have the facts necessary to address your questions and concerns and act in the best interest of our students. For the fastest response and the most direct support, please use the following tools:

  • District Email: Reach out to your student's teacher or campus principal directly.
  • Central Communications: For district-wide inquiries, email communications@nisd.us.
  • ParentSquare: Use the direct messaging feature for quick updates and campus-level communication.
  • Parent Comment Portal: Visit our Parent Comment Portal on the district website to submit feedback or questions to our leadership team.
  • STOPit App: Use this for 100% anonymous reporting of safety concerns or sensitive issues.

While we are always here to solve problems, we also love to hear what is going right! If a staff member has gone above and beyond to support your student during this busy season, please consider nominating them for the Heart of Gold Award. It is a wonderful way to recognize the dedication and heart our team pours into Navarro ISD every day.

Thank you for your continued partnership. Let’s make these final weeks the best ones yet!

Go Panthers!
